SERVICE DESCRIPTIONS

Spot Repair

At our wheel repair center, we specialize in repairing curb rash and other types of damage without having to remove the wheel from the vehicle. This means that we can complete the repair quickly and efficiently, without causing any inconvenience to our clients. During the repair process, we only paint the affected area of the wheel, rather than the entire wheel, unless a full refinish is necessary. We use a specialized technique called spot repair to blend our finishes seamlessly into the existing factory clear-coat, ensuring that the repair is virtually undetectable. However, if the damage is too severe for a spot repair, we will dismount the wheel from the vehicle and prepare it for a full face refinish.

Face Refinish

A wheel face refinish is a process of restoring the appearance of a wheel’s face. This involves stripping the existing finish from the surface of the wheel, sanding out any imperfections, and then applying a new coat of paint and clear coat to create a smooth, even finish. The process is designed to remove any dirt, grime, or other contaminants that may be present on the surface of the wheel, and to create a durable, long-lasting finish that looks great and provides excellent protection against damage. Overall, a wheel face refinish is a great way to restore the appearance of your wheels and give your vehicle a fresh, new look.

Bend Repair

Bent wheels are a common issue that we encounter at Absolute Wheel Repair, and we specialize in restoring them to their factory runout (TIR). TIR stands for Total Indicated Runout, which is the measurement between the lowest and highest point of the wheel. By finding the zero point, we can determine the severity of the bend and develop a plan to repair it. Our goal is to restore every wheel to its factory TIR of 35, using specialized tools and techniques to ensure that the repair is precise and accurate. We take pride in our ability to provide high-quality wheel repair services.

We have the NewArc™ Wheel Straightening System to straighten your wheels!

“This patented wheel straightening device enables the user to apply repair pressure on the bend site from either a single axis or simultaneously from a second axis. …

No other machine can perform this dual axis, strain relieving massage and it is the only process recognized by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE). A wheel straightened with the patented NewArc™ machine will pass every safety test required by the SAE for new wheels.”

Crack Repair

Cracked wheel repair is a process of fixing a damaged or fractured wheel on a vehicle, typically referring to alloy or steel wheels used in cars. The repair involves carefully inspecting the crack, determining its severity, and using specialized techniques to  (TIG)weld the crack. In some cases, the wheel might need to be straightened to ensure proper balance and alignment.

Bead Reseating/Corrosion Removal

In addition to our wheel repair services, we also offer a bead reseating service that includes removing corrosion along the bead to ensure that the tire is properly seated. This service is particularly useful for chrome wheels that may not hold air due to corrosion buildup. However, it can also be necessary for any type of wheel that has experienced corrosion or other types of damage that affect the bead. We offer a free inspection to determine if this service is needed.

Caliper Color Change

Our caliper color change process begins with the careful removal of the wheels, followed by protecting the car with overspray-resistant bagging. The calipers undergo a thorough cleaning, degreasing, scuffing, and preparation process. We meticulously mask the surrounding area and use fine line tape to define the caliper details. Next, the calipers are sprayed with a high heat resistant sealer, the chosen color, and two coats of high temp polyurethane clear-coat (with lifetime warranty) for added gloss and protection. Finally, the area is meticulously cleaned, and the wheels are remounted to factory specifications.

Wheel Color Change

Our wheel color change service involves removing the wheels from the vehicle, repairing any damage, and thoroughly cleaning and prepping the wheels. We then apply an adhesion promoting sealer, a color/base coat, and two coats of UV protected polyurethane clear-coat (with lifetime warranty) for a durable and glossy finish.

Headlight Restoration

Headlight restoration involves the process of rejuvenating foggy or discolored headlights. It typically includes steps such as cleaning the headlights, masking off surrounding areas, sanding with progressively finer grits, polishing with a restoration compound, applying a protective clear coat, and final cleanup.

Safety Inspection

Safety inspection for wheels involves a systematic examination to ensure optimal performance and safety. The inspection process includes the following steps:

1. Check for Wheel Bend and Crack: Inspect each wheel for any visible signs of bending or cracking, as these issues can compromise the wheel’s structural integrity and cause tire damage or uneven tire wear.

2. Check Valve Stem: Examine the valve stem of each wheel to ensure it is in good condition and properly sealed. A damaged or leaking valve stem can cause tire deflation.

3. Inspect for Uneven Tire Wear or Leaks: Observe the tires for uneven tread wear, which could indicate a bent wheel or alignment issues. Additionally, look for any visible leaks or damage to the tire that might lead to a loss of air pressure or a flat tire.

4. Inspect Lug Nuts: Verify that all lug nuts securing the wheels are properly tightened to the manufacturer’s recommended torque specifications. The technician will also examine each lug nut for signs of swelling or deformation.

By performing these checks regularly, vehicle owners can ensure the wheels are in good condition, reduce the risk of accidents due to wheel-related issues, and maintain a safe driving experience.
